Students in Grades K–8 will begin their Standardized Testing this week.
We begin to welcome students to enter the building promptly at 8:00 a.m. in order to ensure testing can begin on time.
It is important that your child be here on time.
If your child arrives after testing has begun, he/she will need to wait in the office until the first section of testing is done; he/she will then be admitted to the classroom.
Traffic and accidents are unexpected; it is best to allow extra travel time and leave earlier than usual during this week.
There is no “make-up” if your child misses a portion of the standardized testing. On the parent report you receive over the summer, there will be no score(s) for the section(s) missed.
How can you help your child be prepared?
Make sure he/she has a good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast.
Dress in layers if it is cool in the morning; it may warm up!
Tell your child to do his/her best and pray with him/her before school. Your confidence is contagious!
If your child takes medication before school, please be sure it is taken each morning.
Students have been taking practice tests this week in grades K-5, so that they know what to expect next week.
Please reassure your child that this test is looking at how we are doing as a school. They are, in a sense, grading their teachers; no need to worry at all! Let us know if you have any questions.
